ABOUT KIN WELLNESS
Built for the people weekly therapy was not enough for
Kin Wellness is a virtual intensive outpatient program for adults in California, run by a team of therapists and psychiatric providers who work together.
We started it for the people in the gap: too much going on for an hour a week, and no way to step out of their lives for residential care.
What we are
Virtual, across California. Groups and individual sessions by video, from wherever you can close a door.
An office in Fountain Valley. 8780 Warner Ave, Ste 11, for in person EMDR and for anyone who would rather be in the room.
One team, not a referral chain. Your therapist and your psychiatric provider work together on the same plan.
HOW WE WORK
Three things we believe in
THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF CARE
Nine to fifteen hours a week: a lot more than weekly therapy and a lot less than an inpatient.
Approaches with research behind them: CBT, DBT skills, ERP, EMDR and psychoeducation, alongside depth psychology and a relational way of working. The method matters. So does the person across the screen from you.
NEVER THE MESSENGER
When medication is part of your care, your therapist and your prescriber talk to each other. You should not have to carry information between appointments.
WHY KIN WELLNESS
Why we started this
Angelina DeSanto, Paola Mercado Demeza and Dakota Gripp opened Kin Wellness after years of watching the same thing happen: someone would do well in weekly therapy until life got heavy, and then the only next step on offer was to leave their job, their family and their home for a residential program. Most people cannot do that, and many do not need to.
Intensive outpatient care fills that gap, and doing it by video means it fits around a workday, a commute, or kids at home. We built the program we wished had existed for our own clients: small groups led by licensed clinicians, individual check ins, a psychiatric provider who is part of the team rather than a separate practice, and a morning track and an evening track so that treatment does not require putting everything else on hold.
Kin means the people you belong with. That is what we try to be for the time you are with us, and what we try to help you rebuild outside the program.
