CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Conditions we treat

Kin Wellness is a virtual intensive outpatient program for adults in California, and these are the things people most often come to us for.

Each page below covers the specific conditions under that heading, how we treat them, and the questions people ask before they call. Most people arrive with more than one, and you do not need a diagnosis to reach out.

WHAT WE TREAT

The conditions we treat

Depression and mood disorders

Major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, bipolar I and II, postpartum and perinatal depression, seasonal depression, and low mood after a loss or life change.

Anxiety and panic

Generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, agoraphobia, specific phobias, health anxiety, and anxiety that spikes after a life change.

Trauma and PTSD

PTSD, complex trauma, acute stress, childhood and relational trauma, medical and birth trauma, traumatic grief, and dissociation, with EMDR in person in Fountain Valley or by video.

ADHD and OCD

Adult ADHD assessment and treatment, every form of OCD, intrusive thoughts, hair pulling, skin picking, and impulse control, with ERP for OCD.

Personality disorders

Borderline, avoidant, dependent, and obsessive compulsive personality disorders, and patterns that keep repeating without a formal diagnosis, with DBT skills at the center.

Burnout, grief, and life stress

Professional burnout, caregiver stress, grief and prolonged grief, pregnancy and infant loss, and the strain of divorce, a move, a new job, or another big change.

Women's mental health

Postpartum and perinatal depression and anxiety, birth trauma, PMDD, mood changes in perimenopause, pregnancy loss and fertility stress, and the invisible load of caregiving.

Men's mental health

Depression that looks like anger, anxiety and work stress, burnout, new fatherhood, grief that was set aside, and trauma, with an evening track that fits around work.

Relationships and codependency

Codependency, enmeshment and family roles, attachment patterns, boundaries, communication and conflict, and relationship distress, with individual, family, and couples therapy.

WHERE TO START

Not sure which one fits?

Most people come to us with more than one of these. Anxiety and depression, trauma and relationship patterns, ADHD and burnout often travel together, and the pages are organized the way people search rather than the way a diagnosis works.

You do not need to sort yourself into a category before you call. The first conversation is a short call where we listen to what has been happening and tell you honestly whether Kin is the right level of care. If it is, the assessment that follows covers everything at once, and your plan is built around you rather than a single label.

Call 949.706.8610 or send us a message and someone from our team will call you back.

What we are

Virtual, across California. Groups and individual sessions by video, from wherever you can close a door.

An office in Fountain Valley. 8780 Warner Ave, Ste 11, for in person EMDR and for anyone who would rather be in the room.

One team, not a referral chain. Your therapist and your psychiatric provider work together on the same plan.

WHAT TREATMENT INCLUDES

What treatment at Kin includes

GROUP THERAPY

Small groups led by licensed clinicians, three hours a session, three to five days a week, with a morning track and an evening track that runs 5 PM to 8 PM Pacific. How the program works

INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY, AND COUPLES THERAPY

One on one sessions with your own therapist, who works from the same plan as the rest of your team, and family or couples sessions when the people around you are part of the work.

PSYCHIATRIC CARE

Medication evaluation and management from a psychiatric provider who is part of the team, so your therapist and your prescriber talk to each other. Medication management

QUESTIONS

Common questions

Do I need a diagnosis before I call?

No. Many people reach out because something has felt wrong for a while and weekly therapy has not been enough. The first call and the assessment that follows are where we work out together what is going on and what would help.

What if I have more than one of these?

That is the norm rather than the exception. Your plan is built around you rather than a single label, and because your therapist and psychiatric provider work from the same plan, nothing gets treated in isolation.

Is treatment covered by insurance?

Most major PPO and HMO plans are accepted, including Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United. Call 949.706.8610 or send us a message and we will verify your benefits before you commit to anything.

What if what I am dealing with is not listed here?

Call us anyway. These pages cover what people most often come to us for, not everything we treat, and if Kin is not the right fit we will say so and help you find care that is. We treat adults in California, and we are not a substance use or dual diagnosis program.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Our program is not an emergency service.
