CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Relationships and codependency

Many of the things that bring people to therapy happen between people: patterns that keep repeating, relationships that cost too much, families where roles were set long ago.

Our program gives adults in California a place to understand those patterns and practice new ways of relating, in groups and in individual, family, and couples therapy.

WHAT WE HELP WITH

Relationship patterns we help with

Codependency

Organizing your life around someone else's needs, moods, or problems, often at the cost of your own. Codependency is not a formal diagnosis, but the pattern is real and common.

Enmeshment and family roles

Families where boundaries are blurred, or where you learned a role early, such as the caretaker, the peacemaker, or the one who never needed anything.

Attachment patterns

Anxious, avoidant, or push and pull patterns in close relationships.

Boundaries

Knowing what you need, saying it, and holding it, in a way that fits your culture and family rather than cutting everyone off.

Communication and conflict

Arguments that go in circles, shutting down, or saying yes when you mean no.

Compulsive relationship patterns

Relationships or behavior that feel compulsive and keep causing harm, sometimes called love addiction or sex addiction.

Relationship and family distress

Strain between partners, parents and adult children, or co parents, including support through separation.

SIGNS

Signs it may be time for more support

  • The same relationship problems keep repeating with different people

  • You feel responsible for other people's feelings

  • You lose yourself in relationships

  • You have trouble saying no, or feel guilty when you do

  • Conflict at home is affecting your health, work, or children

QUESTIONS

Common questions

Is codependency a diagnosis?

No, but it describes a real pattern, and it often travels with anxiety, depression, or trauma, which can be treated.

Can my partner or family join?

Family and couples sessions are available as an adjunct to your treatment.

Will working on boundaries mean distancing from my family?

Not necessarily. Boundaries are about protecting your peace, and we work with what fits your culture and your family.

Is treatment covered by insurance?

Most major PPO and HMO plans are accepted, including Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United. Call 949.706.8610 or send us a message and we will verify your benefits before you commit to anything.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Our program is not an emergency service.
