CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Anxiety and panic treatment

Everyone worries. Anxiety becomes a problem when the worry, fear, or dread is out of proportion to what is happening, and you start rearranging your life around it.

Our virtual intensive outpatient program helps adults in California understand the anxiety cycle and practice ways out of it, several days a week.

CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Anxiety conditions we treat

Generalized anxiety disorder

Worry about many different things that is hard to control, most days, for months, often with tension, restlessness, and trouble sleeping, that can often feel debilitating and excessive in proportion to what is going on in your life.

Panic disorder

Sudden waves of intense fear with a racing heart, shortness of breath, or dizziness, followed by worry about the next one and avoiding places where it might happen.

Social anxiety disorder

Intense fear of being judged or embarrassed in social or performance situations, strong enough that you avoid them or get through them in dread.

Agoraphobia

Fear of places or situations where it might be hard to leave or get help, such as crowds, public transit, or being far from home.

Specific phobias

Intense fear of a particular thing or situation, such as flying, driving, or medical procedures.

Health anxiety

Persistent worry about having or developing a serious illness, with frequent checking, searching, or seeking reassurance.

Anxiety after a life change

Anxiety that starts or spikes after a move, a new role, a diagnosis, or another major change.

QUESTIONS

Common questions

What is the difference between anxiety and a panic attack?

Anxiety tends to build and linger. A panic attack comes on suddenly, peaks within minutes, and brings strong physical symptoms. Many people experience both.

Can anxiety be treated by video?

Yes. Many people find it easier to start from home, and the skills are practiced in real life between sessions.

Is an intensive program too much for anxiety?

It depends on how much anxiety is affecting your life. If weekly therapy has not been enough, more structure can help. We talk through the right level of care on the first call.

Is treatment covered by insurance?

Most major PPO and HMO plans are accepted, including Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United. Call 949.706.8610 or send us a message and we will verify your benefits before you commit to anything.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Our program is not an emergency service.
