FOR REFERRING PROVIDERS
Refer a client to Kin Wellness
Kin Wellness offers a virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults in California, with a morning and an evening track, plus weekly therapy for individuals, couples and families. We work with residential programs, partial hospitalization programs, therapists, psychiatrists and primary care providers who need a next step for a client.
To refer, call 949.706.8610 or send records by secure fax to 949.335.5572.
WHO WE SERVE
Who we are a good fit for
A good fit
Adults 18 and over who live in California, with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, personality disorders, burnout and grief, perinatal and postpartum concerns, and relationship patterns.
That includes clients stepping down from residential treatment or a PHP, and clients whose weekly therapy is no longer enough.
Not a fit
A primary substance use or dual diagnosis need, eating disorders, anyone who needs detox or round the clock supervision, or anyone at immediate risk. For these, we will help point the client toward a higher or more specialized level of care.
How to refer
By phone: 949.706.8610
By secure fax: 949.335.5572
Helpful to send, with the client’s signed release: the client’s name and phone number, their insurance, the reason for referral, their current level of care and planned discharge date, and current medications and prescriber.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
What happens after you refer
Here is what happens after you call or fax a referral.
Step 1. We contact the client within one business day, often sooner, and check their benefits.
Step 2. We do an intake by video.
Step 3. We confirm a start date and coordinate directly with you so there is no gap in care.
Step 4. If you would like, and with the client’s permission, we keep you updated and send a summary when they finish.
The program at a glance
9 to 15 hours a week. Three hour sessions, three to five days a week, on a morning track (9 AM to 12 PM) or an evening track (5 PM to 8 PM Pacific), Monday through Friday.
Groups, individual therapy and medication. Small groups, individual therapy at least once a week, a treatment plan, and medication management with our Medical Director when it is part of care. Most people take part for 30 to 90 days, then step down with an aftercare plan.
By video, anywhere in California. Individual sessions, EMDR and medication appointments can be in person in Fountain Valley. We work with most major PPO and HMO plans, including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and United Healthcare. No Medi-Cal or Medicare.

DURING THE IOP
While a client is in our IOP, our team provides their therapy: small groups three to five days a week and individual sessions at least once a week.
THEIR PRESCRIBER
They can keep their outside prescriber, and we coordinate with them. Clients without a prescriber can see our Medical Director for medication management.
WHEN THEY FINISH
We build an aftercare plan with the client and coordinate their return to your care so the move back is smooth.
