EVENING IOP · CALIFORNIA

Evening IOP for working adults in California

Kin Wellness runs an evening track of our virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP): 5 PM to 8 PM Pacific, Monday through Friday, by video from anywhere in California. It is for adults who need more support than weekly therapy but cannot step away from work, school or family during the day.

Three to five evenings a week, three hours each, with the same groups as our morning track. We work with most major PPO and HMO plans, including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and United Healthcare. New clients can start right away.

HOW IT WORKS

How the evening track works

When

5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Pacific, Monday through Friday. You and your team choose three to five evenings a week, for 9 to 15 hours of care.

In each session

Small groups led by our clinical team. Some groups teach skills you can use that same week, some explain what is happening in your mind and body, and some are space to talk through what is going on.

Around the groups

Individual sessions with your therapist at least once a week, a treatment plan built around your goals, and medication management if it is part of your care. Individual sessions and medication appointments can be scheduled in the evening too.

When a different level of care is safer

IOP is not an emergency service. If you need medical detox, round the clock supervision, or you are in immediate danger, a higher level of care is the right place to start, and we can point you toward it. If you are in crisis now, call or text 988 or call 911.

WHO IT IS FOR

Who the evening track is for

Adults in California who need more than weekly therapy and can safely live at home, but whose days are already full.

  • A return to work after a residential or partial hospitalization program.

  • A private space where you can talk without being overheard. A spare room or a quiet office works.

QUESTIONS

Questions about the evening track

Is the evening track the same as the morning track?

Yes. The same groups, the same team and the same structure, including individual sessions and a treatment plan. Only the time is different.

How many evenings a week do I attend?

Three to five, three hours each. We set the number with you based on what you need.

Can I switch between the morning and evening tracks?

Often, yes. Talk with your clinical team first so they can make sure the change fits your care and that there is room in the other track.

How long does the evening IOP last?

Most people take part for 30 to 90 days, depending on what they need and what their insurance authorizes. Before you finish, we build an aftercare plan with you, such as stepping down to weekly therapy.

Is the evening track covered by insurance?

Coverage is the same as for the rest of our IOP. We work with most major PPO and HMO plans and check your benefits before you commit to anything. We do not accept Medi-Cal or Medicare.

Can I join from anywhere in California?

Yes. Groups meet by video, so you can join from home or another private space anywhere in the state.

What if I am in crisis?

IOP is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, at any hour.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Our program is not an emergency service.
